Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder that affects women worldwide. One of its most visible and emotionally distressing symptoms is hirsutism, characterised by excessive hair growth in unexpected areas. PCOS affects an estimated 8–13% of reproductive-aged women and up to 70% of affected women remain undiagnosed globally.
Soprano Titanium provides an effective solution to cases of hirsutism which are not caused by hormone imbalances and have unknown causes. The patient, Chanel is a 30 year old, Fitzpatrick 3, female, suffered from excessive facial hair on lower face, chin and neck, requiring daily shaving that caused severe inflammation to the skin, darkening to the area and uneven skin tone. Having to shave every day and feeling the need to cover up the affected area has had a major impact on her self esteem. She would spend hours doing her makeup and has avoided social activities due to lack of confidence. Having to deal with excessive facial hair and the process of covering it up had impacted her phycological & emotional wellbeing.
Treatment & Results
Dr Nisha Menon treated this client with Soprano Titanium using the 2cm applicator on stack mode, which is suitable on all skin types, on the lower face, chin and neck.
The Soprano tip in contact with the skin reaches -3°, this allows for a virtually pain free treatment even in sensitive areas like this.
The results here are following 4 sessions 6 weeks apart.
The client has since had a further 2 treatments and will come back for periodic maintenance.
The patient is extremely satisfied with the results of hair reduction, but even more than that, she has regained her self confidence as she doesn’t have to spend 4 hours trying to cover her skin before she
can leave her house. Now the client visits the clinic and attends make up free and with immense confidence.
