The Attic Medi Spa Clinic Success Story
My name is Amanda Baldwin and I am a registered general nurse/prescriber, with 42 years in the nursing profession. I am the owner of a very busy clinic up in North East Lincolnshire in the town of Grimsby. I have worked full time in Aesthetic medicine for 18 years now, having had my clinic, The Attic Medi-Spa for 13 years.
I work with an incredible team of 14, including both my daughters, the eldest, Ellie being an amazing therapist and my youngest Hollie, a registered general nurse.
Along with Aesthetic injectable treatments, skin rejuvenation & menopause clinics, we have a great team of holistic therapists and even a yoga studio with our team instructor Claire.
When I opened the clinic back in 2011, I had a vision to create not just another clinic, but a place where clients could come for aesthetic and wellness, and as a team we have achieved this perfectly.
Expanding Our Offerings
I purchased our first Soprano Titanium in 2019 after receiving quite a lot of enquiries about laser hair removal, it seemed the obvious next step for the business. The laser was taken over 5 years on finance, which was fine until Covid! The finance company were so helpful in that they gave us a payment break for a year.
We purchased the Harmony XL Pro in September 2023. I felt that we were achieving such great results with injectables, but were missing that all so important skin rejuvenation and tightening. I felt that I could only take my patients so far on their aesthetic journey & it was becoming quite frustrating. Looking good requires different treatment modalities, and I would say the Harmony was most definitely “the icing on the cake” for us. It has also answered so many additional skin related enquires for us such as mole, skin tag, tattoo removal and so on.
Building a Thriving Clinic with Alma
My eldest daughter Ellie had made a real success with the Soprano and was desperate to work with the Harmony, so she finally got her own way!!
As a clinic owner, the deal clincher for me was that Alma offered us the Harmony XL Pro on interest free payments over 3 years, with an affordable deposit upfront and a deferred manageable payment at the end. I would say the ClearLift and ClearSkin treatments have been our biggest seller. We very quickly had so many bookings. Probably 80% of patients that come to clinic for injectables booked up for a course of 6 Harmony treatments. We only need 8 patients a month and the machine has paid for itself and I am happy to say we absolutely smash it with the number of bookings, the machine is more than paying for itself and making significant money for the business.
In December 2023 we decided to take a new Soprano Titanium. This was really a no brainer for us, again because of the interest free finance payments Alma were offering and the high demand for treatment. Again, we only need 2 patients a week having a full leg laser hair removal and the monthly finance payment has been achieved.
More Than Just Devices, A True Partnership.
The Alma devices we have, have grown our business massively. I feel the lasers go absolutely hand in hand with injectables and we can now treat acne patients properly, without just giving them skin products, and know we can achieve amazing results. We also see a serious number of PCOS patients visiting clinic along with transgender patients looking for laser hair removal.
The support we’ve received from Alma as a company has been second to none. Right from our first introduction to Charlie in sales, who has continued to support us wholeheartedly throughout. I would say the standard of training has been outstanding. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Chloe, the trainer, the support is there 24/7, she’s helped us so much to learn and develop our knowledge and understanding…. you kind of want to take her home!!
We are also forever grateful for the amazing Alma Academy trip to Barcelona that we were invited to attend earlier in the year. The standard of worldwide knowledge and learning opportunity was just incredible, not to mention Alma’s generous hospitality… we were blown away!!
As a business owner & medical professional, I feel very honoured to work with Alma, I think its quite rare these days to find a company that nurture and support you in the way they have done so with us…..they’re not a company as such….more like a family.
